World Series live updates: Surprising Diamondbacks face the Rangers in Game 1

Adolis García’s solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning lifted the Rangers to a 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks in Game 1 of the World Series. Arizona took a 5-3 lead into the ninth, but Corey Seager’s two-run homer off Diamondbacks closer Paul Sewald rescued the Rangers from defeat. Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte had two RBI apiece for Arizona, which erased an early 2-0 deficit with a three-run third inning against Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi. Tommy Pham’s solo homer to lead off the fourth gave Arizona a lead that would last until the ninth.
