Scottsdale's Launch Real Estate joins national giant, introducing it to metro Phoenix – Phoenix Business Journal

New York-based Compass Inc. (NYSE: COMP) is expanding to the Arizona market.
The tech-enabled real estate brokerage has tapped Scottsdale-based Launch Real Estate to join the firm.
Robert Joffe, a co-founder of Launch Real Estate, said Compass is the nation’s biggest brokerage with some of the top agents in the country.
“Their technology is second to none,” he said. “This elevates us and gives our agents the opportunity to grow their business and bring them to the level we want all of our agents to be.”
Launch Real Estate has about 250 producing agents, Joffe said.
Chris Karas, also a co-founder of Launch Real Estate, said the partnership with Compass will give Launch Real Estate’s clients more exposure.
“We’re partnering with some of the biggest names in real estate across the U.S.,” Karas said. “Collectively, we think this is going to be the absolutely best opportunity for our clients for exposure.”
Launch Real Estate co-founders John Vatistas and Sean Zimmerman have known Robert Reffkin, Compass founder and CEO, for many years, Karas said.
“They talked in the past,” Karas said. “This year, it made sense for Compass to come to Arizona. We were able to strike an incredible partnership that allows all our agents in Arizona to take advantage of what Compass has to offer.”
Compass has 30,000 agents and 300 offices across the nation, he said.
“Their platform with technology and what they built over the last couple of years is going to truly change the industry,” Karas said. “We’re so happy to be a part of it.”
Local agencies have been teaming up with national powerhouses in recent years, including Scottsdale-based Retsy joining Forbes Global Properties and Scottsdale-based 72Sold teaming up with Keller Williams.
Walt Danley has had a long-time partnership with Christie’s International Real Estate as has Russ Lyon with Sotheby’s International Realty.
“We didn’t do it for that,” Joffe said. “We did this because of the opportunity. We have some of the best agents in the state. We are proud of what we do.”
Last year, Launch Real Estate generated more than $2.2 billion in sales.
“It’s not so much about success,” Karas said. “It’s about giving our clients more exposure and every opportunity. Why wouldn’t we give this to our clients?”
