‘Avengers’ Star Josh Brolin Buys a Fantastic Farmhouse in Montecito for $7.1M

Josh Brolin, who starred in films such as “Avengers: Endgame,” “Dune: Part Two,” and “True Grit,” has snagged a luxury farmhouse in Montecito, CA, for $7,100,000.

The list price was $7,650,000, so the actor got the Santa Barbara County spot for a discount.

The six-bedroom, six-bathroom getaway has about 6,000 square feet of living space and sits on a 2.8-acre lot. It was built in 1939 and features white clapboard siding and beautifully manicured gardens.

In addition to his new SoCal spread, Brolin has an impressive Atlanta mansion, which he put up for rent last month.

Relaxing retreat

The listing notes that the East Coast farmhouse-style retreat features a spacious layout with multiple living areas and a large kitchen.

One sitting area has a wall of windows, French doors to the outdoors, coffered ceilings, and space for a dining table. Another has a slanted ceiling and a wet bar.

Meanwhile, the kitchen is deliciously dark and moody, with black cabinets, terra-cotta tile flooring, and a vaulted ceiling. The oversized center island with sink also makes food prep a breeze.

The bedrooms are bright and airy, with the main suite boasting backyard access, a large walk-in closet, and a sitting area. Shiny hardwood flooring is found in several areas of the house.

Out back, there’s a guesthouse, a riding arena, an aviary, and more patios than we can count. The guesthouse, which was converted from a barn, features terra-cotta flooring, high ceilings, and stone walls, while the patios are perfect for hosting parties.

Gorgeous gardens

Walking trails, lush greenery, and towering oak trees imbue the outdoor space with a “Secret Garden” feel.

This sweet coastal estate sits at the base of the Santa Ynez Mountains. It’s a short walk to Montecito’s Upper Village, and a short drive to Ojai, Miramar Beach, and Stearns Wharf.

Brolin, 56, had one of his first acting roles in the 1980s when he played Brandon Walsh in the cult classic “The Goonies.” He’s starred in “Men in Black 3,” “No Country for Old Men,” and the “Avengers” franchise.
