Mayor and Council
The City of Chandler, Arizona continues to be a place where businesses go to grow.
This past year, we welcomed several new companies to Chandler and saw others expand their operations. New development projects are creating opportunities for additional business growth and some key redevelopment projects have brought activity back to underutilized properties.
Here are some of the exciting projects that happened in Chandler during 2022.
Since 2007, Skin Script has been changing the quality skin care experience with more than 35 corrective skin care products manufactured in the USA.
Skin Script has been serving licensed aestheticians from all over the country for the past 14 years. Founded in Tempe, the company is expanding and relocating to a larger facility in nearby Chandler at 6150 W. Chandler Blvd., Suite 28.
With more than 26,000 square-feet, this new facility has been built out to meet Skin Script’s needs with sales offices, warehouse space, and a state-of-the-art training room where they will host professional trainings for licensed aestheticians both virtually and in-person.
EMD Electronics, the North American Electronics business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, today announced a new factory in Chandler to manufacture equipment for its Delivery Systems & Services (DS&S) business.
As part of the Level Up program, the $28 million investment will enable DS&S to capture and grow its gas and chemical delivery systems business in the targeted regions of North America and Europe, with supplemental capacity to supply Asia. The factory will operate on a new property in Chandler and has been secured with a long-term lease. The company expects to start operations in the new factory by the end of 2022. At full ramp-up, staffing levels will grow to greater than 100 total employees.

The Arizona IT Innovation Center is one of four national GM technology hubs, with sister locations in Warren, Michigan; Austin, Texas; and Roswell, Georgia. These IT Innovation Centers tackle solutions and services redefining GM’s products as the company moves toward an all-electric future. In February 2021, VIAVI announced Chandler was selected for a new advanced manufacturing operation and the relocation of their corporate headquarters from Silicon Valley. VIAVI purchased a 104,000-square-foot industrial building at 3455 S. McQueen Road, where it planned to co-locate its headquarters within the same facility, but recently determined that it needed additional space. The two facilities are separated by only a few miles, with the new office in Chandler’s Price Corridor and manufacturing operation in the Airpark Area.

BioProcure expects to hire approximately 35 employees in the first year and 150 employees within three years. The Chandler location will include procurement, operations and administrative positions.
Say hello to the latest redevelopment project in Chandler. The Aloha;a classic Arizona motel that had seen better days, has now been transformed into a 26-room boutique motel for the modern traveler. Located at 445 N. Arizona Ave., the motel is perfectly situated for visitors wanting to explore downtown Chandler and the surrounding area.
The project started in 2019 when investors John Hylton and Bill Simmonds first viewed the property. They looked past The Aloha’s aged exterior and recognized an understated icon of the post war car culture, a symbol of a golden age when the traveling middle class used motor inns as they made their way across the country.
The facility will support U.S. semiconductor manufacturing, creating 100 jobs
Yield Engineering Systems, known by the acronym YES, has leased 123,000 square feet at 3200 W. Germann Road within the acclaimed Price Corridor. The facility will support YES in serving the region’s thriving semiconductor industry.

The NewQuest project, totaling 117,565 sf, is 97% leased, a milestone reached within 30 months of the Houston-based developer’s acquisition of the property – a one-time struggling center that’s been infused with $10 million of capital improvements and re-tenanting.
