Schell named 2023 Realtor of the Year by local association – The Owensboro Times

Purchasing a home is one of the biggest things many people will do in their life, and local realtor Matt Schell said he’s glad so many have put their trust in him to help them through the process. Schell was recently named the Realtor of the Year by the Greater Owensboro Realtor Association.
Schell began working in real estate 16 years ago and currently works with eXp Realty. He said that over the years, the one thing that’s been consistent is his desire to connect with the people he works with and for.
“I love the people in our community. I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to work for these folks here in Owensboro and for their continued support and the friendships I’ve made. I’m a lucky guy,” Schell said.
Schell said a fellow agent nominated him for Realtor of the Year, and a panel outside of the Owensboro market made the final pick.
To even have his name among those considered was an honor, Schell said, adding that in his opinion the Owensboro market has several great realtors.
Schell said he was nominated in part for his commitment to the local association and his work in the Owensboro market.
“Realtor relationships are important to me, and I want to make sure that realtors are professional and that we’re working together for the better good of the consumer,” he said.
Working on serving the consumer has been a main focus for the last 2 years. Schell said that means he tries to help other agents understand how appropriately to meet the client’s needs — emotionally and financially.
“The biggest part of my business is this is not about driving some sort of a huge income,” he said. “It’s really [that] people know when they hire me that they’re going to be taken care of, and they’re going to end up in a great spot.”
