REAL ESTATE: Former school building in Clark County changes hands – Arkadelphian

Clark County real estate transactions recorded May 18 through June 1, 2023, having a value of $100,000 or greater. Information is gathered from public records held by the Clark County Circuit Clerk, online real estate records via actdatascout.com and the Arkansas Secretary of State. The Arkadelphian includes names of grantees, grantors, transaction price and property description available, and does not withhold names.
Highlighting this round of real estate transactions is the sale of the former site of an Amity school building. Curtis Horton purchased the old high school and its cafeteria, located on North Main Street, from Chang and Lihua Chen for $127,500. The Chens purchased the property in 2019 for $119,000.
William and Carol Sherwood purchased a 1,728-SF frame siding home and 8 acres on Roy Road, in the DeGray community, for $300,000. Michael and Laura Hipps paid $48,000 for the land in 2022 and built a home there.
For $245,000, Eric and Amy Gillis bought a 1,936-SF frame siding home on 1.32 acres at Hackberry Lane, between Knoxville and Joan. Previous owners Joshua and Hillary Brown paid $219,000 for the property in 2019.
Jennifer Shores purchased a 1,787-SF brick home at the 2700 block of Lynwood Drive, in Arkadelphia, for $185,000. Previous owners Ty and Kelly Woodson paid $107,000 for the property in 2006.
For $175,000, Baylee, Hunter and Ashley Burris bought a 1,432-SF frame siding home at the 1800 block of O’Connell Street, in Arkadelphia. Previous owners Keith and Shelly Craft, through Craft Properties LLC, paid $53,000 for the home in 2011.
Cederick and Keasha Turner purchased a 1,736-SF frame siding home at the 200 block of North 23rd Street, in Arkadelphia, for $169,900. The home last sold for $53,000 in 1995 to Lora and Michael Maroney.
For $140,000, Natha Peele bought a 1,923-SF brick home at the 1800 block of Center Street, in Arkadelphia. Previous owners Claude and Reva Delamar purchased the home in 2003 for $77,000.
By way of fiduciary deed, Patrick and Pamela Atkinson purchased a 1,633-SF brick home and 5.1 acres on Snyder Road, near Gum Springs, for $137,000. Previous owner was George Graves.
Bobby Jo Vaughan purchased a 1,276-SF frame siding home at the 1500 block of Walnut Street, in Arkadelphia, for $115,000. Previous owners David and Kristi Neely bought the property in 2019 for $77,000.
For $100,000, Miles McKenzie bought a homesite on 2.13 acres on River Ranch Road, near its junction with Cattleman Road and Highway 53, south of Whelen Springs. Previous owners were Mark and Kim King.
