Omni Scottsdale hotel and resort to renovate guest rooms and meeting space – The Business Journals

The owner of the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia is looking to refresh the property with a “light and bright” approach for future guests.
Omni Hotels & Resorts, the owner of the hotel, will touch up more than 300 rooms with new lighting and drapery, refreshed paint palettes, new furniture including sofas, coffee tables and desk chairs as well as decorative bedding, LED mirrors and updated bathroom accessories.
In addition to renovating each of the 293 guest rooms and 38 luxury suites, Omni will make improvements to more than 100,000 square feet of banquet and event space and to its more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space.
The hotelier started renovations in late May and expects to wrap everything up by the fall. It is using its in-house team to oversee the property improvements and design for the renovations.
Omni declined to give an exact figure for the cost of the renovations but maintained it would be a “multimillion-dollar” project.
“This reimagining of our guest rooms and meeting spaces is just another example of how we are constantly evolving and improving to meet the needs of our guests,” said Rob Goins, general manager of Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia in a statement. “We’ve always been a sought-after destination for getaways and events. By breathing new life into these spaces we hope to further enhance the experiences had here.”
The Spanish-style hotel and resort is located on Tatum Boulevard and Lincoln Drive in Scottsdale and near Paradise Valley and is located near other resorts such as the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn and the Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale.
Omni features eateries on-site such as Prado Restaurant and Taqueria Centro. Omni has owned the hotel since early 2014.
The property was last renovated in 2008, though some venues there have received touch-ups since then, the hotelier said. Omni said this summer was the right time to move forward on renovations as it would cap off the build-out or refresh for each of its three Arizona properties. In April, Omni completed a similar multimillion-dollar renovation at its hotel in Tucson.
In April, the 330-key, 16-story Omni Tempe Hotel at Arizona State University opened at 7 E. University Drive in Tempe. The $125 million hotel includes 11 suites, 36,000 square feet of meeting space and a ground-floor full-service restaurant called Neighborhood Service.
