Birmingham as stop on 100-city tour hosted by realtor group – WBRC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The National Association of Real Estate Brokers kicked off this week of Magic City Classic with a networking event at the Frank in downtown Birmingham.
In addition to providing music and food, the group promoted their wealth building event taking place on Nov. 11, at the Star Church.
NAREB president Dr. Courtney Johnson Rose explained that the Birmingham event is one of many events that the group offers.
“We have classes like ‘Black Men Buy Houses’, that we’re going to host,” said Johnson. “We have ‘What to do with Big Mama’s House’ that we’re going to host. You can get your credit rating. You can get pre-approved for a home. All these services we’re going to provide for the Birmingham community. This is the second stop of 100 cities that NAREB is going to”.
If you’re interested in attending, you can register here.
Just before the wealth-building event, NAREB will host the Black Housing Summit on the campus of Miles College. At the event, the group will release the ‘State of Housing in Black America Report’, which explores the disparities that exist in homeownership and the barriers that prevent homeownership among minorities, in particular Black Americans.
