Midland Board of Realtors gave its top honor, 2022 Realtor of the Year, to Tom Webb of Century 21 Signature Realty Midland at its annual awards ceremony on May 18 at the Midland Country Club.
Webb has been a member of the Midland Board of Realtors since August 2014 and has served on several MBOR committees, including being the 2022 board president. His recent community involvement includes volunteering as a creative arts producer at the North Ridge Church, where he is an active member.
Webb has received the e-Pro, At Home With Diversity and Pricing Strategy Advisor National Association of Realtors certifications and the NAR Green Designation. He has also earned his National Association of Realtors Commitment to Excellence certification. He is an active member of both the Michigan and National Realtor Associations.
New this year is the MBOR Hall of Fame Award, which was presented to Linda Owen of Ayre/Rhinehart Realtors. This award is presented to a realtor member who has committed 20-plus years to the real estate industry and who has shown exceptional excellence, dedication, professionalism and leadership in the industry and to their community.
Owen has been a member of MBOR since April 1979. She has a passion for teaching new agents and showing them the ropes as well as working with seasoned realtors. She advocates for a higher level of professionalism through ethics and legal training. Owen has served multiple roles within the Chamber of Commerce and served on the Housing Task Force with the Midland Foundation and currently serves on the Community Success Panel. She is also an active member of both the Michigan and National Realtor Associations.
Named 2022 MBOR Rookie of the Year was Lacey Mapes of Re/Max of Midland. Mapes joined the Midland Board of Realtors in March 2022 and  serves on the Finance Committee. She has also attended board events and educational training.  Her community involvement includes participating in the Midland Blooms, donating to the local food pantry and volunteering twice a week at Cultivate in Sanford. She is also an active member of both the Michigan and National Realtor Associations.
Named 2022 MBOR Good Neighbor was Jenifer Acosta of Century 21 Signature Realty Midland. The Good Neighbor Award is given to a realtor who is making exceptional contributions to improve the quality of life in their community. Acosta has been a realtor member since October 2020. Some of her community involvement includes being the programming co-chair of the ULI Michigan Local Product Council Housing & Community Development, being part of the Midland Center for the Arts Board, Michigan Municipal League Foundation, Midland Housing Task Force and assisting with initiatives to solve housing problems created by the 2020 dam failure. She is also an active member of both the Michigan and National Realtor Associations.
Sue Moody, Mortgage Lender at Mercantile Bank, received the MBOR Shining Star Award for her significant contributions to the real estate industry and her community through her volunteerism with the Midland Board of Realtors. She has been in the mortgage industry for more than 20 years and has offered lending education courses as well as sharing her valuable insights to promote the industry’s best practices.
