Ever heard the phrase, “You can’t have your cake and eat it, too?” Well, a Colorado businessman has disproven that old adage, having picked up a former NBA player‘s contemporary resort-inspired compound in Malibu that’s particularly suited to relaxing and entertaining in style.
Records show Steven Fabos, founder and co-CEO of the Colorado-based Steven Charles-A Dessert Company, has doled out $13.5 million for Chandler Parsons’ splashy 1.4-acre estate. First listed for a tad less than $17 million earlier this year and subsequently reduced, the property was removed from the market altogether before going to Fabos in an off-market deal at a substantial $3.5 million discount. But that’s still around $4 million more than Parsons paid “CSI” franchise creator Anthony Zuiker for the place around three years ago, back in winter 2019.

Originally built in 1990 and extensively remodeled through the years, the dessert-maker’s newly acquired residence features five bedrooms and a matching number of baths spread across a little more than 5,500 square feet of two-level living space adorned throughout with wide-plank walnut and oak floors, high ceilings, and folding glass doors providing seamless indoor/outdoor environs.
Resting at the end of a gated driveway, the beige-hued and concrete-clad structure is fronted by an expansive motorcourt and attached two-car garage. A striking entryway opens into a double-height foyer, which displays a glass-encased wine cellar tucked beneath the staircase, and flows to formal living and dining rooms.
Other main-level highlights include a cozy fireside family room spilling out to a wraparound deck offering plenty of spots for al fresco lounging and entertaining, along with an adjacent dining area that connects to a gourmet  kitchen outfitted with quartz countertops, an eat-in island and top-tier Viking appliances. Upstairs, a sumptuous master retreat sports a fireplace, balcony, raised sitting/office area, and luxe bath equipped with a dressing area, soaking tub and glassy shower accented with a brick wall.
As for the decadent outdoor space, the tropically landscaped grounds host a fire-pit lounge area, saltwater pool and spa, built-in barbecue and pizza oven, tennis court, and covered pavilion with a kitchenette and bar. And rounding it all out is a detached guesthouse with two great rooms that can sleep up to 14 people, plus a kitchenette, full bath, gym, game room, movie theater and an ocean-view roof deck with another fire-pit.
